Professor Franz Babl is the Professor of Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Melbourne and a paediatric emergency physician at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne Australia. He is the head of emergency research at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Australia.
His research focus is on pragmatic clinical research questions
affecting children across emergency departments and other acute care settings. He conducts most research in multi-centre randomized controlled trials and large observational studies via PREDICT, the paediatric emergency research network in Australia and New Zealand, and PERN, a global collaboration of emergency research networks.
He has sourced >$60 million in grant funding and published >400 peer-reviewed papers.

Dr Hope Ang is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is Head of the Acute Pain Service. He has special interests in Regional Anaesthesia as well as Chronic Pain management. Dr Ang is a member of the Regional Anaesthesia Mobile Block (RAMBO) Service in TTSH, performing nerve blocks to manage acute pain, as well as to facilitate surgery in the perioperative setting. Dr Ang believes timely and appropriate pain relief for patients in the acute care setting is important to improve the quality of clinical care. As a Clinical Lecturer and EnRICH Clinical Mentor at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, as well as Adjunct Clinical Teacher at the NUS Lee Kong Chien School of Medicine, Dr Ang also contributes actively to clinical education and is mentor to Residents in the NHG Anaesthesiology Residency Programme.
